The addition of the US Forces brings an entirely unique faction that will forever change. The focus shifts back to the Western Front, depicting some of the most brutal fighting of World War II in the darkest days of the conflict. Overall, this is a good DLC to anyone interested in the factions. Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front Armies is the first Standalone Multiplayer release for Company of Heroes 2. Oberkommando West units can reach up to 5 levels of veterancy and upgrade base buildings via trucks. They resemble a mix of the Panzer Elite, British, and Wehrmacht factions from the first game. The Oberkommando West represent a depleted German army in 1945, with a mix of cheap and expensive units. Each unit is versatile in its role and can hold their own against the German infantry.
The United States Forces can utilize smoke grenades and upgrade all infantry with weapons such as the B.A.R., Bazooka and M1919 machine gun from the weapon racks. The United States Forced resemble the United States Army in the first game and rely on flanking but with officer usage. Each army is a new faction with some resemblance to their Company of Heroes 1 counterparts. Company of Heroes: The Western Front Armies is a multiplayer DLC that includes two armies for use, the Oberkommando West and the United States forces. The Western Front Armies is the first expansion pack for Company of Heroes 2, and introduces 2 new factions: The US Forces, and the German Oberkommando West.
